AmeraVant is a full-service web design, development, maintenance & hosting company. Its founder and owner is Michael Kramer, from Santa Barbara, CA. Ameravant opened its doors for business in the fall of 2001. The strength of any organization is based on the people that surround it. AmeraVant has engaged the expert talents of over 10 programmers, graphic designers and other web professionals to deliver one successful solution for each client.
Many have asked “what does the name AmeraVant mean”? One of AmeraVant’s early co-developers was a New Zealand technology company. Because New Zealand only has less than four million people and the United States has over 300 million, it was important that when doing business with the Kiwi’s we have a name that represented the United States.
The name AmeraVant is a combination of “America” & “Avant”. According to Webster’s Dictionary, the word “avant” is defined as:
“culturally or stylistically advanced : AVANT-GARDE“
Therefore AmeraVant, as it relates to web site technology, represents web sites in America that are culturally or stylistically advanced. We thought it was perfect!
Our founder Michael Kramer has lived in Santa Barbara since 1993. He has a 4-year BA degree in Business Marketing and a 4-year BA degree in Real Estate Administration from Indiana University.
Michael has owned and operated several companies since 1980. His expertise in technology started in 1993, when he developed the, 1st of its kind, mortgage analysis software application. The application compared mortgage programs and informed the borrower which loan was the best for them. The application was sold nationally to financial institutions.
In 1995 the company purchased a service bureau that collected mortgage programs from lender across the country. The data was used to populate the mortgage application and was also sold as raw data to web site companies like E-loan.com, the 1st online direct web-to-consumer lending company. In 1997 Michael’s company was sold to its largest client, www.myersinternet.com, who continues to use application and data to power mortgage programs on their countless web sites. Myers Internet is the largest development and web hosting company in the mortgage industry.
Between 1998 and 2001, Michael was hired by two companies to manage their growth. The 1st company was a enterprise software company. During Michael management as COO and CFO the company grew from 6 employees and $600,000 to 22 employees and over 3,000,000 in sales. The 2nd company that Michael managed was the Los Angeles branch of an international Executive Search firm.
If you live or do business in Santa Barbara, there is a good chance you will run into Michael. He has held several leadership positions in non-for-profit organizations and is an active member of the business community.
Back to AmeraVant. In late 2003 it was obvious that controlling web hosting services was a way to offer less expensive and better service to the clients of AmeraVant. In January of 2004 Ameravant started offering it own web hosting services. The hosting computers are located in a large secure data center in Kentucky. Web hosting can be purchased for as little as $10/month and includes advance features such as, free search engine submissions, web site visitor statistics, MS SQL & MYSQL databases, large hard drive space, Email services and more.
